Love the colors and the lighting is really awesome. I feel like the colors were focused well like how there's only dirt patches in the center of the ground and most of the dark sky/fog is in the center. The piece also follows a rule of thirds but not obnoxiously so. I also like that even though you have two tree on the left and right, because there's light (fog) shining on the right side on a dark tree it creates a gradient of light to dark without leaving an empty space in the composition. I also like how your character stands out in the piece just enough to be the focus but without seeming out of place color wise. Good work.

I enjoy your drawing because it is cute and pleasant to look at. I think you have the background done artistically (and by that I mean 'interestingly') to highlight your subject. I think the presentation is professional so even though your figure is somewhat simple this is why I think it still has a good effect when you look at it. I was originally writing that you don't need to have experience etc. to make effective art but how you present everything leads me to believe that you don't seem inexperienced. I kind of looked at your bio and I think it said you had been drawing for awhile. I think the only thing you need to work on as you continue to draw is your figures but your presentation is really good so I think more people will respond to your art as you improve with that. With that being said I think the face is cute. One last thing, I think it would be cool to see this character drawn after you gain more experience so there's another reason to keep going.

Thank you so much for your critique! Backgrounds aren’t one of my strong suits, but I decided to challenge myself a bit when creating the one for this piece. Also, I plan to study anatomy and expressions more in depth so my characters will begin look more lively. Redrawing this character once I gain more experience seems like a great idea, and I’m definitely going to give it a go sometime in the future. Thanks again! :)
